Long Overdue Book Review

I know I've mentioned how much I like my Kindle (probably 108 times or so) on this blog. But, I've thought of another couple reasons....

Library books smell weird, and I think I've read all of the ones from the Arlington library that I could possibly be interested in reading.

It conveniently fits in my purse. That way, the little guy goes with me everywhere. What a perfect companion for all my hundreds of doctor visits and the time I spend living in waiting rooms during the baby process.

How cute is the Kindle? I mean, it's so thin, lightweight, and pretty.

My Kindle cover has the perfect nightlight for reading. Plus, the Kindle and case are durable enough where I can leave the light flipped up and the cover open, with it nestled on my pillow next to me, when I have fallen asleep reading. It is so durable, in fact, that it has withstood pugs walking on it and sleeping on it during the night. (Yes, the pugs sleep with us. It's the reality in our house. I can't take that joy away from them, either. The guilt would be too much for me to stand.)

Anyway, enough about the precious Kindle.

Recently, I have read these books....

This one is the most recent (last?) of the Shopaholic series. Like the others, it was funny but perhaps a little bit redundant. Entertaining overall. Rebecca, the main character, once again puts herself in a series of predicaments that involve cute outfits and interesting events. This would be a good one for easy reading whether in long sessions or short little bits.

Recently, I discovered Mia King. To be a fairly new author, she has a wonderful style of writing. Her characters in these two books (Above is her debut novel, and below is its sequel.) are a little deeper and have nice dimension. It's nice to read about a strong female character who makes her own path and sets her own goals while also really intentionally enjoying her life and what's in it. I read another of Mia King's books, Sweet LIfe, over the summer. A wonderful book for the beach!

In the next book review, I'll talk about my current book and some memoirs I've recently read! It's a fun diversion from fiction!

Okay, I am so glad you said that about Mini Shopaholic. I just finished it (well, skimmed the last half...) and felt the same way. Mildly entertaining but enough already. Same old, same old.

We totally let our dogs sleep with us, too. The pug is a major pillow hog!
