Baby Showers

Right now, I have several friends who are expecting sweet little babies this spring!

First up is my dear friend, Mandy! Her little boy, Paxton, is due soon, and we are getting ready to celebrate at her baby shower this weekend!

Her gift is great! I don't know if she reads the blog or not, so I'll have to wait to post about it after the weekend.

But, I do want to share what I made! A friend suggested that we create a baby sock corsage for Mandy to wear at the shower. So, I looked at photos online and came up with my own little method. Here's how it came out....

Making it was simple!
In case you need to make one....

You need:
floral stem wire
floral wire
3 pairs of baby socks
little artificial flowers, leaves, or decorations (little pearls or what-have-you)
floral tape
ribbon

1. Roll each sock, starting at the toe and rolling toward the cuff.
2. Use a little floral wire to hold the roll in place.
3. Insert the stem in each flower and begin to tape it from flower to stem.
4. Bundle your flowers. Insert flowers, leaves, and other little decorations into the little bundle. Use a bit of wire to wrap the stems of the whole bundle to keep everything in place.
5. Tape the stem area of the corsage from top to bottom.
6. Tie on some lovely ribbon!

The corsage looks GREAT! I've always thought they were such a cute idea, but never thought to try and make one myself! I've got quite a few showers coming up, too, and I just might have to try it out!
