What a difference a month makes!
I can't believe that my baby girl is already one month old! It's crazy how quickly time goes by! I saw a quote on pinterest the other day that said, "Time flies. But, you are the pilot." I like that. It makes me think about how, even though she is growing so quickly, I just have to savor every moment!
Here are her stats:
She weighed 8lbs 5 oz at last week's weight check.
She has now officially outgrown 3 newborn size outfits. :( She is still a little small for 0-3 month pajamas, but she's wearing them anyway. She can wear 0-3 month onesies. Her newborn size pants are beginning to get a little short, but the 3month size is still way too long. So, our mission this weekend is to find the poor girl some more pants!
Pampers newborn diapers are getting too small, but Huggies newborn diapers still fit.
She loves the little mirror toy that came with her gym mat Her favorite thing to do on her mat is to look at her mirror and hit it with her hand. I am so glad I happened to be videotaping her when she hit it repeatedly for the first time!
She also looks at us and makes a little "OOH!" face with her eyes getting so big when she gets really interested in something.
There is something about carrying her to the refrigerator and opening it that really fascinates her. For some reason, it calms her if she cries. Papa thought of that little trick!
Bath time was much more smooth last night. She actually smiled once during her bath the other day. We were so proud!
I love love love the fact that she is so comfy and secure in Sam's and my arms and that our voices comfort her. Love that!
Today we changed her feeding schedule. She has now moved from 2 oz every two hours during the day and every three hours at night. She now gets to have 3-4 oz every four hours around the clock. I'm so glad the pediatrician finally felt like she is gaining weight consistently to where we can change the routine. We always felt bad waking her up at night to feed her.
I am excited to see what her little sleep routine at night will be now that her belly is more full!
If I could go back a month and relive the day she was born, I'd do it again and again, c-section and all! That was the happiest, most elated feeling to see a little soul come straight from heaven to get to be with us. It's been a fantastic month!
