Camille, you are four weeks old!

I can't believe that you are already four weeks old.  It's amazing to me how quickly time flies with a sweet baby.  At your first checkup, your pediatrician said that with a baby the days are long but the years are short.  So far for us, though, it seems like the days are so short that the years will really go by quickly.  You have changed so much just in two weeks.  Here are some of the highlights....

Your hair is thicker and growing.  The hair you had when you were born is still all there.  Plus, you now have new hair growing in, and it is spiky.  So cute!

Your eyes, for the most part still seem to be the same color as when you were born (blue-gray).  In certain light, though, there is almost a little tinge of brown.  Speaking of eyes, you have really begun to make eye contact.  Also, when you hear a sound that interests you, you turn your head toward that sound and look for it.

Your startle reflex, unfortunately, already seems to be diminishing a little.  It makes me sad because it's the cutest thing, but I am proud of you for developing, of course.

Your hands are becoming busy!
When you are interested in having it, you now hold your pacifier in your mouth by yourself, putting your little finger in the hole of it or putting your whole hand on the front of it.  So far, you still are only interested in it right after you finish your bottle.  You also like to keep a hand on your bottle.

In the last two weeks, you've also become much more interested in your swing.  It took a while, but we finally figured out you like to swing forward/back instead of side to side.  We'll blame it on lack of sleep that it took us a while to catch on to how you like to swing.  Oops!  You like the bouncy seat, too.  This week we also started playing more with your little activity gym and travel bed toys on the floor.  Your favorite parts are the mirror and the musical light-up thing.  We love watching your facial expression when you see these and seeing you hit the mirror.

You also discovered your Glo-Worm in the last two weeks.  You like when it lights up, and you just stare at it.

I put you in the dress that Lala and Papa put on me to bring me home from the hospital when I was a baby.

Here are your stats from your check-ups so far:
5 day checkup: 7 lbs, 9 oz; 20 inches long
2 week checkup: 7 lbs 10 oz; 21.5 inches long (I guess it's just hard to measure a baby.)
3 week weight check: 8 lbs 5 oz Hooray for a growing baby!

We are to keep giving you 2 -2.25 oz of formula every two hours during the day and every three hours during the night until your two month checkup.
