Getting settled at home has been really exciting! We are beginning to get settled into somewhat of a routine. (We are a learning that the routine with a newborn is pretty much to feed her every few hours and rest when she rests. You never know whether night time will bring sleep or not!) We have had a few wonderful nights where she has slept well between feedings. We have also had a night where she just did not sleep at all. She just doesn't know day from night very well yet. My mom has been sweet enough to take a few feeding shifts a few nights, and it has given Sam and me some of the rest we needed.
Recovery from the c-section has been tough at times. I still can't very well pick up Camille or set her down without a tearing/tugging feeling in my abdomen. So, Sam has been the one to do the majority of picking her up and bringing her to me. It makes me a little sad that I can't walk around and bounce with her very well. But, I am becoming an expert at rocking with her! It's exciting to watch my belly go (kind of) back to normal and to see the swelling from surgery go away.

I just had to share because it's funny. Dr. Neblett gave Camille "her first birthday card" during the c-section. This was what was left of it the day after we got home.
We also had Camille's first doctor's appointment when she was six days old.
* Her length measured at 20".
* She weighed 7lbs. 9 oz.
* She was in the 50th percentile for weight and head circumference.
* She was in the 60th percentile for length.
* Basically, she's has an average head and an average weight, and she's a little tall. She does have some long legs like her dad!
* On both of her arms just above her elbows, she has these spots called hemangiomas. They look like "stawberries". The pediatrician said they are basically blood vessels that just haven't completely settled into her circulatory system just yet. He said they should go away by nine months.
* We switched from the Enfamil Newborn formula to the Enfamil Gentlease formula to help with tummy aches and gassiness.
We go back next week for her two week check-up.

Your doctor is too funny and so sweet! I've never heard of a birthday card on your belly before!
You look great! I can't wait to see y'all in a few weeks. Don't get all of my Camille sugar...ha!
