Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

Thanks, God.

So yesterday was a busy day... going to my classroom, waiting for my class roll to be given to me, coming home, cleaning a little, working out, doing my homework, participating in online class, getting some kindergarten stuff done, and spending time with Sam (who, bless his heart, is so patient with me and the fact that the dining room right now feels like kindergarten central while I work on school stuff).

Anyway, so on the way to school, most days I talk to God while I'm driving. Usually the conversation is pretty casual, I guess... I just thank Him for all the good things in my life, ask Him to please watch over all the people I love and care about, ask Him to help me be as good a representative of His love as I can be, and ask Him to help me learn to be still and listen/look for what He is telling me when it comes to not worrying/trying to do what He wants me to do/and understanding that He has a plan for me and that I don't have to worry so much about the ins and outs of my life. This is the kind of relationship I want my one-day kids to have with Him... I want them to be able to speak their hearts when they pray. The big focus yesterday was asking Him to help me realize He's already got a plan all worked out for me and to help me see the moments rather than my own little worries.

So, yesterday I saw some things. Some were new. Some were things that I see all the time. But, all of them made me realize and appreciate His presence and work in all things.
*the horses at the little farm at Rosemark and Mudville... They are my very favorite part of the drive to school. Yesterday, they were right at the corner. Some were watching the "traffic" go by with their heads over their fence; a couple really were watching. Others were partnered up and just standing there with their heads resting on the others' behinds. Others were just looking around. It made me appreciate how great all the animals He has made are. They're all so different. It just makes me realize that He has some kind of imagination!

*I had a great conversation with someone yesterday. Those kinds of super positive conversations, I know, were put in life right at the moment you need them, because God had a plan to put them there.

*A good friend of mine is going through something. I hate it that they're dealing with it and wish that they didn't have to. But, yesterday evening they texted me and said they were doing okay. I know God is watching over them.

*I was scanning some of our wedding photos into the computer yesterday. (Yep, we don't have them on CD because we got married in the dark ages of technology! Haha! I am working on getting my photographer to put them on CD for us.) Upon looking at our proofs album, I saw a photo that I had never noticed. It was a back view of Sam and me sitting in the chairs where the ceremony was held. It wasn't a posed shot, it was just a b/w of him and me sitting there talking. For all the craziness, busyness, good times, stressful times, and happy times in five years of being married, that photo just reminded me of the great relationship God gave Sam and me. He has such cool timing. (I am working on putting that photo on the blog.)

So, if you're reading this blog, I hope that you will be careful to look and listen a little more today. I know I will!

I love the horse farm. There is a miniature pony farm on Deadfall. They are so cute. There's also a camel in Brighton. Great post!

Great post. What a great lesson! Sometimes it's just SO hard to slow down and listen. I'm always in "let's fix the problem" mode.
