Birthday Party

Sam and I wanted Camille’s first birthday party to be a big one.  We had the party four days before her actual birthday.  (That's how it works sometimes for Christmas babies!)   Since we know future birthdays will soon enough be about "big kid" themes and friends from school, we thought this one could be the one where we could celebrate with all the family and friends who have loved us through the process of having her.  So, with 48 guests in our house, we played, talked, laughed, opened presents, and sang Happy Birthday to our big girl.

These are my favorite photos that a great friend took of her on her special day.

This was our favorite gift.  A very talented friend painted this from a photo she took of C last spring.  It's on solid 2" thick wood and now hangs by the door to her room.  It's beautiful in the photo, but the details are even more amazing in person.
