On Friday night, we enjoyed a great dinner at Old Venice Pizza and dessert at YoLo with Caroline and Fred and Emily and Ben. Thanks, Caroline... I had to cut and paste your photos!

If you haven't been to these two places, you are missing out! At Old Venice, we had the spinach and artichoke dip little flatbreads and the "Hog Wild" bbq pizza. Yum! At YoLo, I had birthday cake frozen yogurt with marshmallows and Snickers crumbles. We just love these friends and can't wait to get together again very soon!
We had our next "baby lab" appointment Saturday morning. My Letrazole pills and my three Follistim had unfortunately not yet done the trick in making my follicles grow. But, the good news is that the nurse told us that afternoon to keep on taking shots Saturday and Sunday night so that we could see what happens.
On Sunday, we had to run back to the baby lab to pick up another Follistim med vial. My vial did not have enough for the additional shots, so we ran back and borrowed one of theirs, since this medicine has to be ordered and flown to us in a freezer pack. After that, we went to visit Shaun and Jen and their new puppy.
Today, I am off work. Woohoo! It's a good thing since I ran errands all morning! First, we dropped off Tanner for his cleaning. Then, we went back to the "baby lab" for another ultrasound and bloodwork. Apparently, those additional two shots have helped... I have five growing follicles. That's great news! My nurse told me that more than likely I'll have to have two more Follistim shots and another ultrasound to confirm further growth. Then, I should hopefully be able to have my trigger shot. So, that's good news! It's taking a little longer than we'd hoped for the follicles to grow, but there is progress!
Someone asked me the other day how much everything costs for this attempt. So, I'll break it down for you, visa-style....
Follistim shots: $522
(ordered one, will have to order another to pay back the baby lab for the one I borrowed)
Ovidrel trigger shot: $65
Letrazole and Fabb tabs: $35
injection training: $45
ultrasound/bloodwork #1: $320 (two days ago)
ultrasound/bloodwork #2: $203 (today)
ultrasound/bloowork #3: $203 (in a couple days)
total cost so far since Feb. 10: $1,393
doing everything we can to have a baby: priceless :)
How was your weekend?
