Ultrasound Update and a Book I Like

I've been taking my meds these last couple weeks, and last week we had two ultrasounds to measure the follicles/see if the meds are doing their job. The first ultrasound showed that the follicles were still quite small. The second ultrasound two days later showed growth but not enough growth to make the dr. at the fertility office (My dr. was out of the country for Christmas.) feel that I shouldn't take the trigger shot this time. A little frustrating. But, in all, we have to take the frustrating parts with the good parts.

The positive thing about it is that it made me think back to a comment my friend, Laura, left on the blog a while back. She talked about this book....

Hannah's Hope: Seeking God's Heart in the Midst of Infertility, Miscarriage, and Adoption Loss

It is written from a spiritual point of view and is very reassuring. It's a great book in that it doesn't make promises that with lots of meds I'll get pregnant. It's great in that it helps to give insight into the questions and frustration that plague people who go through this process. If you or anyone you know is facing fertility issues and they are wondering why they have to, why God allows pain like this, and (my personal favorite, and I'm just being honest about this) why pregnancy seems to occur for people who are "less deserving" and "don't care about pregnancy".

It's a positive book and is written from experience!
