Labor Day Weekend 2010

This weekend, we....

Friday:
We went to a great fundraising even at the zoo with even greater friends. This was our fourth time to go to this semi-annual event, and we have had a blast every time.

Saturday:
A while back, some of my dearest friends from high school chose to enjoy a smaller event for our ten year reunion, rather than going to the big reunion.
The ten of us had the wine room to ourselves at Mesquite Chophouse. It was such a fun time catching up with Caroline (and her husband Fred), Allyson and Brad (who both graduated with Sam and me), Allison (and her husband Mike), and Laura (and her friend Julie, who was in town from NYC for Labor Day weekend). The food was wonderful, and we all shared appetizers just like old friends/family tend to do. And, oh, the main courses and side dishes.... those deserve a post of their own. If you haven't had any of chef Michael Patrick's dishes, you are missing out!

We were at the restaurant from seven p.m. to almost midnight, chatting, catching up, and laughing. We were so caught up in the fun we were having that we didn't realize the restaurant had been closed for quite a while. The staff didn't even say a word about and just let us keep on visiting. Nice, huh?

We all promised that it would be sooner than later before we get this big group together again.

These are the Class of 2000 folks who were at the dinner.

Sunday: Sam and I went to the "Lynch Deck" to swim and then went to Chuck and Annalyn's in the evening to enjoy a little time chatting by the fireside in their new outdoor kitchen. The weather was perfect: great for swimming in the day and just cool enough for a lit fireplace and a long sleeved t-shirt in the evening.

Monday: Happy Labor Day!
Sam and I went to the "baby lab" (haha!) for another ultrasound to see how the meds are working. (I'll put all that info in a future update.) Then, we ran by the Vera Bradley store since I was itching to cash in my gift certificate. They were all out of umbrellas, so I was forced to get a bag. Oh, well... I did what I had to do! :)
How was your long weekend?
