I would say that this has been such a busy week at school. But, really, every week is a busy week at school! Our student teachers are at ATES for the last week, so I've had lots of visitors observing my class and learning how to "do" kindergarten. Our assistant principal also gave us a surprise visit and complimented us on our class and all we're doing (Yay!). This week I also was given a Memphis student who will be in my room for at least 24 field experience hours over the coming weeks. She has been by a couple times this week to observe and to show me her schedules of what she has to do in my room to meet her course requirements. (This reminds me how glad I am that I am finished with my bachelors degree and that my masters degree work is online!). On top of these things, I finished my mentoring hours for the school year, so now I can look forward to my little extra paycheck in August.
We've also been preparing for Read Across America next week... the theme at school is Celebrating Dr. Seuss. All our K kids will dress in crazy outfits each day, and we have some cute activities for them. This calls for more work and prep time for the teachers for sure, but we know the kids will enjoy it. At first I was not looking forward to all this, but today I had the most fantastic idea for the door decorating contest. Now I'm a little excited to put it together and post pictures soon.:)
Just a couple more weeks until a three day weekend. Just a few weeks after that until spring break! My goals over break will be to fix the door facing in the laundry room where my sweet little Cole gnawed on it and to touch up paint here and there around the house as needed. Oh, and I will be working on my scrapbook clipboards for anyone who wants to give me a few photos of their wedding, family, friends, and pets to put on them. (Caroline, Allyson, and Laura, this means you, as you are the only girls I know who read my blog :) ) My own cute clipboards are at school; so, tomorrow I will bring them home to photograph and post so you can see what they look like.
