You are Eight Weeks Old!

You are eight weeks old!  It's so fun to watch you grow and change constantly.

You wake up so happy each morning, and it's the sweetest thing when we come over to you and you smile so big at us.  Such a sweet moment every morning.  You like to have your bottle right away, and you know the sound of when I stir the formula in it.  You also know what it means when I put your bib on you.  After that, you spend some time playing at your play gym or watching your mobile.  Right now, these are your favorite toys.  The other day, I showed you your stacking light-up toy and you immediately cried... I guess the manufacturer was right that it's appropriate for babies 6 months and up!  Oh well!  You now notice the bird mobile attached to your swing.  You have had your first nap in your crib rather than in the pack and play.  Mommy and Daddy are slowing working up the nerve to have you sleep in your room at night.  Right now you nap in there some during the day.  You love to look at the ceiling fan and the light in every room.  When we walk into a dark room, you make your "ooh" face.  You drink four ounces every four hours during the night and three ounces every three hours during the day.  You usually stay up for most of the morning, maybe only napping for about thirty minutes.  Most days you fall asleep and have a good nap around 2 in the afternoon.  I don't know how much you weigh or exactly how long you are, but I know that you are way too long for most of your newborn size clothes but not nearly wide enough to fill out most of your three month clothes.  Your hair is getting thicker and longer, and your eyes have not really changed much.  Your startle reflex happens less and less, and I am sad to see it go.  I love that you are growing and healthy, but it also makes me so nostalgic that every day is so fleeting and that you are changing so fast.  You still love to be swaddled, and you love to be cuddled tight before bedtime.  You usually fall asleep for the night around 9, an hour after your bottle.  It's crazy how much we love you.  We never could've imagined how much of our hearts you would take until we met you.
