23 weeks

Wow! I am 23 weeks along now!

We had a doctor's appointment last Friday. Camille is doing well. Dr. N. let Sam use the fetal doppler to listen to her "swimming" around and then listen to her heartbeat. Her heart rate was an average of 157. Sam really enjoyed getting to be the one to work the little machine. He did say it was hard to stay with her because she was moving a good bit.

We are scheduled to go back in four weeks so that I can have my glucose test. For those of you who have gone through a pregnancy before, was your glucose test appt scheduled in the morning? Mine is scheduled right now for the afternoon, but I am thinking of changing it so that I don't have to be sugar-free until 4 p.m. I mean, I have to have cereal bar as part of my breakfast. :)

After that appt, we'll go back two weeks later for the 4d ultrasound! I can't wait!

other updates...
weight gain/loss:
I had gained 2.5 lbs., according to my July dr.'s appt. Now, I've lost .5 lb., so I am just up 2 so far. My dr. says it's okay.

maternity clothes:
I love maternity clothes! I do need another pair of maternity jeans and a couple cute outfits for upcoming showers.

gender:
sweet little girl, Camille Ray

Camille's size:
1.5 according to Baby Center, around 11-12 inches long from head to heel

belly button:
It's still sitting flush with my belly. Sam says it looks bigger to him. And, he should know, since he sees it nightly when giving me my shots. Speaking of shots, lately it's been feeling like Sam has to get the shot needle through the surface of a football, my skin seems so tight/thick/hard.

movement:
This week's highlight: hiccups! We saw her hiccuping one evening last week. It was this rhythmic movement on one side of the belly! She is getting stronger, I think. Little jabs/kicks/ shifts happen a good bit during the day.

cravings:
pasta, Mexican food, sliced green apples... I have also been in the mood for pb&j.

what I miss:
Nothing!

sleep:
I've been sleeping great! Weird dreams and all!

what I am looking forward to:
We've taken the guest bedroom furniture out. Her dresser and chest are in there right now. Sam is painting the walls this week. We are planning to sand and paint the dresser and chest this weekend. We are ordering the crib tonight! I am looking forward to having the big projects of her room finished so that we can take care of the little ones and do a little more shopping! A couple great friends are getting ready to throw a couples shower for Sam and me in a few weeks! I am so excited about it! It's so exciting that we are going to be meeting her in about three and a half months!

symptoms:
a little heartburn here and there. Tums is the greatest invention!

best moments this week:
a good doctor's appointment, beginning to get her room ready, talking about her with Sam, my parents felt her move yesterday for the first time
