For Father's Day this year, my parents came over for dinner that Friday. Sam and I ordered a Boston butt from our friend's daughter's cheerleading squad. So, we had a great dinner of BBQ sandwiches, potato salad, Brown's Baked Beans (you should try them the next time you have a cookout!), and Rice Krispie Treats for dessert. We gave my dad a personalized Tervis tumbler that says "AA4Uk, best dad ever". AA4UK is his ham radio call sign, so he really liked it. We had a great visit and then got together again later on the actual day of Father's Day.
Both my parents are awesome. My dad and mom have always been so supportive of everything I do. They knew exactly what I needed growing up and always gave it to me, whether it was extra love, an ear to listen, or discipline when I needed it (although I was easy to discipline... all they had to do was look at me sideways and I'd straighten up. Still sensitive like that today!) They have been especially supportive of all that Sam and I have been through in the baby process. I can't wait for them to meet their first grandbaby!
