Clomid Round #1

I don't think I've mentioned it yet, but I started Clomid. In case you don't know, Clomid is the first step in fertility medicine. Clomid is the drug that that triggers a certain area of your brain to produce hormones and chemicals that tell your body to ovulate. (I don't know if I mentioned this earlier, but Dr. Joe told me that even though I got pregnant one time, it doesn't necessarily mean that it would happen again, because I am still considered annovulatory.) So, I started Clomid this cycle. I used the ovulation predictor kit every day and tested when it prompted me to do so. So, finally, on day 20 (June 5), the tester actually showed that I ovulated. I had never seen this symbol pop up on the tester in the past, so I was just excited that it seemed the Clomid prompted/ seemed to have prompted me to ovulate! That's a step in the right direction.

I had my bloodwork appointment on Monday, June 8. This is the appointment where blood is drawn to check your progesterone level. Normally, this is done on day 21, which is generally seven days after ovulation. (Back at the beginning of my cycle, I was scheduled to take the test on day 23, as day 21 fell during the weekend.) I was a little concerned about having bloodwork done so early, considering I'd only ovulated three days earlier. But, the nurse said it didn't matter.

On Friday, last week, a nurse called to tell me my results. She said they were inconclusive because:
If the progesterone level is 0-5, that means the person didn't ovulate.
If the prgoesterone level is 10 or higher, that means that ovulation definitely happened.
My level the day of testing was 8.3.
But, I really think that my level would've been higher if I'd gone for bloodwork a little later in the week. So, I really think, considering the level I had and the fact that my predictor kit showed ovulation, that I did ovulate.

The nurse just told me to wait a few days, take a pregnancy test, and to call them with the results, whether positive or negative. The drama continues. :)
