This weekend we had a really nice time. On Friday, I had our last day of school with the kids. That evening we went to my parents' to celebrate my mama's birthday. We spent our Saturday with me finishing and sending in my big ass fifteen page paper. Thank goodness that thing is done! Then, we went to Target, got a few things for the cruise, and had dinner at Casa Mexicana. We spent Sunday looking for a small digital camera... we finally setted on the Nikon S560. The ratings online for it were good and it has a lot of features that are easy to use. We finally found one to buy at Best Buy in Southaven! Today, Memorial Day, we went to the zoo to play with the camera (it was a blast today... we saw a lot of things we'd never seen before, which I'll cover in a minute), worked out at the gym, fixed Hawaiian chicken for dinner, and now we're watching all the drama that is Jon and Kate Plus Eight.
Just two more administrative days, then not long 'til the cruise.
By the way, these are the interesting things we saw at the zoo:
*one of the polar bears doing this cute underwater somersault maneuver while just watching the people watching him
*the otters and the siamangs playing animal tag in the China exhibit. They really were chasing and tagging/swatting at one another
*Andre, the big boy sea lion, performed in the sea lion show. For as many times as we've seen the show, we've never seen him in it.
*The big male lion lying in the grass on his back with his back legs all spread eagle using his front paws to scratch his chest while licking the air. This reminded us very much of Cole.
*A whole bunch of really inappropriately dressed people. So many disturbing images. Makes me shudder a little.
