Our week at school has been very memorable. My poor, sweet little kindergarten kids endured two hours of graduation practice (lots of song practice, followed by two sound system/video checks) on Monday. On Tuesday, we had our graduation ceremony, which I think couldn't have been better. The kids were so good and sang their little hearts out for their families. The families seemed very proud and happy-sad at this little event celebrating the kids' accomplishments. What a sweet day! Since nineteen of my twenty-one kids checked out, I spent the afternoon packing up my classroom. On Wednesday, the kids brought their games and played together; I continued packing. Today, the kids got to jump on the inflatables the school rented; this afternoon we had the kindergarten luau. Such a busy week! Tomorrow is my last day with my little monkeys. I am sad to see them go this year. I just feel very fortunate that I had the chance to be this class' teacher this year. So tomorrow I am hoping to just enjoy the time with them, let them enjoy their breakfast and watching their poor teacher participate in teachers' field day (ugh), and send them out of kindergarten with a big hug. At least they'll be in the halls next year. I'm looking forward to watching them grow up.
Other than that... we are closing in on vacation time! Not long now til we are on the boat!
One last interesting thing: the other night we ordered Chinese for dinner. Tonight I had a fortune cookie, and the fortune said, "A short stranger will soon enter your life with blessings to share." Interesting, huh?
