What a great day!

Today has been great so far, and it's only the afternoon! To be totally honest, yesterday I was feeling a little unproductive. At the same time, though, it was also one of those days where as much as I wanted to accomplish something, I just had trouble getting it together.

But... today! Today has been such a good day!!!
I got up, made muffins, got ready, and ran a bunch of errands with my mom. We made it to Wal-Mart and picked out the perfect fabric to make seat sacks for my class next year. It's so exciting to have a new project to look forward to. I'll start sewing my new seat sacks this evening or tomorrow. I also got my dad his Father's Day gift - new slippers he wanted. Tomorrow I will burn him a CD of all his favorite Beatles love songs. Poor Dad - he only has them on tape!

So, my list of kindergarten preparation for next year includes:
1. Make file folder games for reading and math - almost done!
2. Make seat sacks - bought the fabric, now need to make them
3. Put together a technology center (no computers at the new school) - 2 down, 3 to go!
4. Organize my existing school items - haven't tackled this jut yet.
5. Create my back-to-school pack - partly complete
6. Decide my daily schedule - almost done!
7. Build my own 7ft. tall Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree to hold letters as the kids learn them - half done!
8. Set up my new classroom - July 15 is our move-in date

Not bad!!! Oh, and Sam was the one who won TWO LeapPads today on Ebay. He got TWO LeapPads and SEVEN LeapPad books for just ...... $42.00! Fabulous!!!!! It looks like (with finding my technology stuff on Ebay, making my own seat sacks, buying some supplies during the Back to School season, getting Dad to refill my inkjet cartridges with his ink refill kit, and making my own file folder games), I will start the school year at a new school and with a new grade level for just a couple hundred dollars. That's great!!! I am so proud of my smart purchases and productive day. This is the new fabric for the seat sacks- denim and different colors of the same circle-patterned fabric. Can't wait to make seat sacks and post a photo.
This evening for Date Night, we are having take-out Chinese and relaxing at home. (And maybe even discussing our next vacation :) ).
