Camille is Seven Months!

It's hard to believe we are the downhill slope to Camille turning a year old! Life is faster and so much better with a baby.  The longer we have had the pleasure of having our sweet daughter, the more we believe we won the baby lottery.  God certainly had the perfect girl picked out for us.

Our summer has been a blast, and she has begun taking off with so many firsts!

We haven't weighed or measured her lately, but I am guessing that she is probably 18 lbs by now.
Only a few of her 6 month clothes still fit her well.  The ones that do fit are her Gap and Gymboree things since they run larger than Carter's.
She is wearing size 3 diapers.

Her favorite toys....
light-up stacker
Nuby teething ring
zebra hanging toy (a perennial favorite)
her monkey lovie (This has become a very helpful thing when I am rocking her in the evenings.  She likes to fiddle with this, and it saves me and my hair a little pain!)

She is such a good eater...
We are getting back into the routine that school days require.  I have early duty once every week and twice a week once each month.  These are the hardest days with a baby because we have to be dressed, fed, and out the door no later than 6:20.  On regular school days, we have to leave by 7 a.m.   So, in  a way, it's a good thing that Camille continues to wake up almost every day by 6.  She has a 6 1/2 oz bottle and some food around  6 a.m., another 6 1/2 oz. bottle at 10 a.m., a solid lunch around noon, a bottle around  2 p.m., dinner around 5:30, and her last bottle around 7 p.m.

She still goes to sleep around 7:30 or 8 p.m.

She still is not a long napper.   Catnaps are about all we can really expect from her, I guess.  She will usually take about a 20-30 minute nap around 8:30, another one (maybe) at 11, and then a good 30 minute nap around 3 p.m.  Other than that, she is us and at it!  I think she has taken two hour long naps this summer, and I promise you I was checking on her every five minutes to be sure she was breathing.   It was just so unlike her!  Friends have told us that her nap patterns are so different from their children's.  But, as long as she is sleeping through the night, then we are okay with it. :)

She says "Hi!" in the mornings and "bababa" when she want her bottle.  We are working on "mama" and "dada". I think she has said "dada"once.

Teething was in full force this month.  She finally cut her bottom two teeth the day before she turned seven months.  Bless her heart, she had a hard time with it, especially in those last couple days before they finally broke through the gums.  We have been up with her a good bit at night because she's been uncomfortable from it.  But the day they finally broke through, she was back to herself and sleeping like normal.

We have  a video monitor.  We are addicted to it.  It's quite fun watching her sleep.  She is the wiggliest thing.  She'll start off lengthwise, then rotate to where her head and feet will be again the short sides (her head touching one bumper and feet touching the other).  Then, she'll keep rotating that direction so that her head is where her feet started out.  Then, she'll keep rotating clockwise and end up with her feet resting on top of the bumper.  She's keep going to where she's finally back in the position she started.  Then, she'll just roll to her side and stay in the fetal position until she begins her rotation again.  She does all this in her sleep.  Several times a night.

Her personality is so fun.  She blows raspberries all the time, giggles like crazy, wakes up cheerful, and has a definite preference for us over others.  She loves to play in her high chair talk to us while we are in the kitchen.  She makes little "mmm mmm" sounds when she eats her breakfast.  She loves her "jump jump" and gets so ticked in it when she make sure we are watching her play in it.  She doesn't like being alone very much.  She recognizes the "hot dog dance" song from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  (Yes, we do use that to get her out of a bad mood when she gets upset).  She makes it clear when she wants out of our laps and in the floor to play.  She likes sitting up and playing on her own but also checks frequently to see if we are near.  She doesn't mind car rides and enjoys watching the trees from the window.  She babbles and babbles and babbles.  She loves her hand and her feet.  She loves inspecting our hands and playing with our fingers and rings.  She is a happy girl and loves cuddling.  She loves loves loves bathtime.

In the last month, she...
* still doesn't like tummy time.
* has become so good at sitting up for long periods of time
* has welcomed her first two teeth
* has been swimming  a few times
* went to the zoo with Mommy and Daddy
* visited Momo
* spent lots of time playing
* has become more interested in playing in the floor
* has begun saying "baba" a lot
* opens/closes/opens/closes her hands when she gets excited
* rotates degrees in her crib when she sleeps at night
